JOMA

JOMA is a pop-ballad duo formed by José Manuel Rodríguez and Majela Dueñas—musicians who have known each other since childhood and whose artistic journey began long before they launched their musical project. Both began their training at the age of eight at a music conservatory in Cuba, where they studied classical music for over a decade. Music was always the bond that united them; they grew up sharing the stage in the classroom, mastering technique, theory, and repertoire, and singing duets by artists who would deeply shape their musical identity, such as Sin Bandera and Alejandro Sanz.

Since then, JOMA has developed a style centered on the pop ballad, fusing the genre's classic aesthetic with Latin nuances and a contemporary sensibility. Their sound draws inspiration from artists who have left a profound mark on Spanish-language romantic music, such as Luis Fonsi, Camila, Pablo Alborán, Kalimba, and Niña Pastori. Also inspired by the tradition of great romantic duos, JOMA champions honest songs that speak of love, human relationships, and emotions that resonate across generations.

After arriving in Spain in 2024, they began officially releasing their music and solidifying their artistic path. Today, JOMA seeks to bring a modern perspective to the romantic ballad, creating honest songs that connect with audiences while keeping alive the essence of a genre that has defined so many generations. In 2022, after years of friendship and sharing music as an essential part of their lives, they decided to take the next step and begin a romantic relationship. That was when their artistic project was born. Just days after moving in together, they composed their first song, "Volver a Ti," marking the beginning of JOMA. That initial composition confirmed to them that they possessed a unique voice and a story to tell through their music.
