José Manuel Fiastre Alcaraz (known artistically as "Manuel de Segura") was born in Callosa de Segura, Alicante. From there, and mentored by many masters of Spanish song and music who recognized him as the new representative of the copla, he began a career that took him to the most important stages in Spain and the world.
In 1994, he performed at the Teatro Romea in Murcia alongside Alfonso del Real in the zarzuela "La Parranda." On November 18, 1995, he was mentored by Lolita Sevilla and Maestro Bazán, adopting the stage name "Manuel de Segura."
